Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC) is a uniquely FUN and STIMULATING world-class competition which unleashes the students’ ability to solve challenging math problems and allows students to embrace the cultures of 15 different countries and foster greater friendship with their global friends
SIMOC consists of three categories:
- Individual written Math Olympiad Contest for grades 2 to 10 (Primary 2 to Secondary 4)
- Maths Warriors Competition
- Mind Sports Challenge
Role and Responsibilities
As an event facilitator your role and responsibilities will include:
- responsible for the efficient delivery of tests to candidates, ensuring that relevant procedure and guidelines are adhered to at all times.
- ensuring a calm environment which will give students the best possible opportunity to be successful in their contest
- helping to organise students throughout the event
- helping to provide the correct information and material for successful completion of the contest
- helping to ensure that the conduct of the contest takes place within the guidelines set down by the SIMCC board
- reporting in the event of any discrepancy or irregularity in the progress of a contest directly to the person in charge
- at the end of contest to help make sure that answer booklets have been completed correctly
- attend a compulsory training. Training dates are on July 3 and 4 from 6 pm to 7.30 pm. You can choose any of the dates.
Qualifications Required
- JC 1/ JC 2/ Undergraduate student
- a good command of written and spoken English
- a thorough working knowledge of event procedures which will be provided during a training session
