November/December Math Advancement Classes
My child does not have enough experience in math competitions. Will this workshop benefit him?
SIMCC workshop will guide your child on the foundation of general math Olympiad. Your child will finish the course with an improved understanding on what it takes to solve math Olympiad questions.
What to bring for the physical lessons and where is the venue?
Notes will be provided on each day of the workshop. Students will just need to bring stationeries. Training venue is located at 199A Thomson Road, Goldhill Centre, Singapore 307636.
How will the online lessons be conducted?
Virtual classes will be conducted over Zoom Video application. Notes will be sent via email at least one day before the lesson. Students must download and print the notes.
What will be covered during these 4 days?
Student will be taught 8 Important topics which are covered in
- SASMO, SMKC for Junior Track
- NMOS, RIPWMC, SMOPS – Senior Track.
Each topic is designed to improve student’s pattern-recognition, reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Which track (Junior or Senior) will my child be taught?
If your child won Silver or Gold in a math competition in Singapore, then he/she can join Senior Track.
If your child won Bronze in a math competition in Singapore, then he/she must join Junior Track.
Otherwise, your child has to sit for an assessment test. To take the assessment, please email to training@simcc.org
Are the 4 Days enough to prepare them for a competition?
Various factors affect student’s performance in any competition. One of the important ones is well-guided preparation. Twelve hours of intensive training workshop is specially designed to prepare students for a competition and it will increase the student’s chance of getting a higher score in the competition.
Who are the teachers for the classes?
SIMCC experienced instructors have been preparing Singapore students for various math contests. They also have years of experience in conducting math Olympiad training in Singapore and overseas schools.
How big is the class?
To provide our students a conducive learning environment, we limit the class size to maximum of 12 students.
How to register for your training classes?
We have just implemented a new Member Development portal where you are able to register for your contests, view your contest performance report and book your training lesson. You can register as a new member and it is free for all the students.
